Capcom has announced the next collaboration for Monster Hunter Rise, focusing on the popular Okami series.
This DLC sees the addition of items to turn your Palamute into Amaterasu from Okami in Monster Hunter Rise.
It drops July 30th, and will be free for anyone who already owns the game.
From the trailer it looks like they’ll be tied to event quests featuring Ragna-Kadaki and Magnamalo, since they share similarities to two bosses from the Okami series.
Capcom Collab Quests
This announcement was part of Capcom’s previously announced roadmap for Monster Hunter Rise, which involved multiple Capcom collaborations. The first one was with Monster Hunter Stories 2, wherein both games received the starting armor set from each other in their games.
Three more Capcom Collab Quests are planned on the roadmap, with Collab Quest 3 due out in August while 4 and 5 are slated for the fall.
Looking back, Amaterasu is a perfect fit for a collaboration with Monster Hunter Rise- aside from being a wolf, the game itself focuses on a lot of traditional Japanese aesthetic, similar to Rise’s own focus on Japanese folklore.
Monster Hunter Rise hasn’t gotten new Monster content since the major 3.0 update which saw the addition of monsters like Crimson Glow Valstrax to the game, as well as wrapping up the main story.
