Capcom’s Monster Hunter Rise has taken the crown for the most downloaded game on the Nintendo Switch eShop in Japan.
This was revealed on the Nintendo Japan website as part of their end for the year celebrations. Here are the top 10 downloads for the eShop:

- Among Us (Innersloth)
- Pokemon Brilliant Diamond (Nintendo)
- Momotaro Dentetsu: Showa, Heisei, Reiwa mo Teiban! (Konami)
- Pokemon Shining Pearl (Nintendo)
- Human Fell Flat (Curve Digital)
- Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury (Nintendo)
- Mario Kart 8 Deluxe (Nintendo)
- Minecraft (Mojang)
- Super Smash Bros Ultimate (Nintendo)
Monster Hunter Rise was released as a timed exclusive for the Nintendo Switch on March 26th, 2021. It was revealed by Capcom that from its release date to September 24th, the game has sold over 7.5 million units worldwide with physical and digital sales combined.
The Monster Hunter series has always sold incredibly well in its’ native Japan however with the release of the previous main series title Monster Hunter World, the franchise has started to see high success in international markets with World becoming Capcom’s best-selling game of all time.
Monster Hunter Rise is available for the Nintendo Switch its eShop. It will also be coming to PC on the 12th of January 2022. The game is also currently on sale for Switch in Japan.
