After purported leaks due to a ransomware attack several months ago, Capcom has decided to officially announce that Monster Hunter Rise would be coming to PC.
In an interview with Fanbyte, Producer Ryozo Tsujimoto told Fanbyte that the game would be the second Monster Hunter title to release on the PC, after Monster Hunter World.
Apparently this tidbit wasn’t exclusive to Fanbyte either, as Monster Hunter community influencer Arrekz also says he was told the Monster Hunter Rise was coming to PC.
“In the Interview I had with Ryozo the other day, he confirmed that the PC version is in development”, Arrekz said in his latest video. “He confirmed people are pretty excited for it to come to PC so they’ve started work on a PC version of the game and that is slated for early 2022”.
That being said, the title would not release simultaneously with the Switch version next month, instead scheduled to launch some time in 2022. No dates had been confirmed for the PC release outside of the 2022 window.
Monster Hunter Rise marks the series return to portable consoles, after the series brief stint in home consoles in Monster Hunter World and its expansion Iceborne. Prior to the announcement it was coming to PC, it also marked the series’ return to Nintendo exclusivity, since most games prior to World had been on the WiiU and Nintendo 3DS.
