“Monster Hunter Riders will be discontinued on June 16, 2022, at 12:00. We would like to express our sincere gratitude to everyone who has supported us. We will inform you of the schedule until the end.”
The game was first released on the 19th of February 2020 in Japan, meaning that the game was live for just over two years and never made it to international markets. Unlike mainline Monster Hunter games, Riders is a turn-based game, similar to Monster Hunter Stories but with gacha.
Unfortunately, Riders has received a mixed reception from most fans. While some have praised the game more for its impressive art style and graphics, detractors have criticized it for having boring gameplay which strays too far from traditional Monster Hunter. The gacha system was apparently very predatorial as well.
Monster Hunter Riders is currently available on iOS and Android but will cease support on the 16th of June.
