After lots of delays thanks to an ongoing pandemic, the newly reopened GSC has announced the Malaysia release date for the upcoming Monster Hunter movie.
In a Facebook post, they announced the movie would be coming March 10th, and that you could pre-purchase your tickets starting today. They also teased a second surprise, but haven’t clarified what that is yet.
The Monster Hunter movie has had a generally scattered release, with some places getting to view it as early as December of last year. Add that to the fact its been delayed in each of its different release countries ( the original Monster Hunter movie release date for Malaysia was in September), and you get a great mosaic of countries that may or may not have seen it.
Fan consensus of the movie has been that its boring at best, with a not-particularly-great plot about soldiers fighting off Capcom’s host of sick Wyverns. Diehard Monster Hunter fans have also gone to lengths to criticize liberties taken by the movie, with lots of size discrepancies between the game and screen counterparts.
Still, with cinemas finally reopening, its a good way to support your local cinemas if you’re okay with taking the risk to go outside
