Zoids, sometimes referred to as Technozoids, were first launched in 1983 as a line of model kits of mechanical animals, based on either real-world or mythological creatures.
This makes for a fitting collaboration between the two franchises as the Monster Hunter series is about humans co-existing with otherworldly creatures with their own fictional ecology.

In fact, the collaboration will see the Zoid Sonic Bird take on an appearance based on Rathalos, the poster boy of the entire Monster Hunter franchise.
According to the official distributor Takaratomy website, Sonic Bird Rathalos will be available on July 20th, 2024.
Meanwhile, the second Technozoid is a Beast Liger in a form and color scheme inspired by Magnamalo, the flagship monster of one of the most recent Monster Hunter entries, Monster Hunter Rise.
On the official Takaratomy website, Beast Liger Magnamalo is listed to be available on July 31st, 2024.
For comparison, the Zoids below are the original designs of the Sonic Bird and Beast Liger.
Aside from this collaboration, Capcom is collaborating with PC brand MSI for special limited-time Rathalos-themed computer hardware and peripherals, as well as the mobile game RAID: Shadow Legends for its 20th anniversary.
Not only that, Monster Hunter World also see a significant rise in the concurrent player count after the announcement of Monster Hunter Wilds and the Return to World campaign.
