Mohammad Fahmi, director and designer of Coffee Talk and other games from Toge Productions has suddenly passed away, according to his Twitter account.

While no cause of death was given, both Toge Productions and Fami’s personal Twitter account (operated by one of his siblings), confirmed his passing via a Tweet.
“Today we’ve received the most devastating of news”, says Toge Productions. “Our beloved Fahmi, the writer of Coffee Talk and a beloved friend of Toge Productions has passed away. We are absolutely devastated by his early departure. Thank you, Fahmi. Rest in Peace”.
News of Fahmi’s passing spread like a wildfire on the internet, with many coming out to express their condolences for a beloved member of the game industry as a whole.
“Our industry has lost one of the brightest stars”, says Hasnul Hadi, head of PlayStation Studios Malaysia in a tweet.. “[Fahmi] was someone I was always inspired by. We met at the first Level Up KL where we talked about how we could grow the region together. No words can explain how great this kind and amazing soul. I will truly miss you”.

“He was always a kind person. He was inspiring”.
Neon Doctrine co-founder Iain Garner also shared his own experience with Fahmi, reminiscing about their time as journalists before getting into game dev.
“I cannot believe that Fahmi is gone. He helped me when we were journalists together, we moved into games at a similar time, and he has been a constant source of support and inspiration”, Iain said. “I cannot put into words how much I will miss him. The world is a worse place now”.
Mohammad Fahmi is an absolute stalwart of the game industry, having gone from writing for websites like Asumsi and Tech In Asia to making the critically-acclaimed Coffee Talk, as well as What Comes After and Afterlove EP.
