Indie developers Compulsive Games have recently announced their upcoming roguelike mobile game titled Dungeon Drifter coming in 2021.
Dungeon Drifter is set to be released for Android and iOS devices and is said to be out in the first few months in 2021. The game will feature the classic roguelike game elements such as procedural generated dungeons, different class-types of warriors to be unlocked, turn-based gameplay as well as treasure to loot.
The environment to Dungeon Drifters range from different types of eerie environments that fit into the style of the game such as in the sewers, abandoned prisons, dwarven cities, etc. The map layout for each levels are based on a 5×5 grid base tile for each increasingly difficult dungeons and players will need to strategically get their character to the exit, one tile at a time.
Each tile will be representing different prospects for your character so you have to watch out for stuff such as booby traps and nearby enemies but do keep an eye out for healing tiles and treasure chests. And as you progress throughout the level, collect weapons, potions, armor, all of which can aid your character during battle.
The game is specifically designed for mobile phone devices where players will be able to play it with even just with one hand where players can choose between swipe or button controls. One session would normally take around 3 to 15 minutes which makes the game super casual for people who just want to try out the game.
