Hololive has made a surprise announcement- that they would be releasing a game based on the popular Vtuber Minato Aqua.
Details were sparse about the Minato Aqua game- we have no details on platforms or a release date, only that it’s releasing some time in 2022 for Japanese users.
Funnily enough this isn’t the first Hololive videogame, or even a videogame based around a singular talent- that honor goes to Evil God Korone which released in October of last year.
It joins HoloEarth as well as Hololive ERROR as other Hololive videogames currently in development.
Knowing what we know about the other games, it’s safe to assume we can at the very least expect a PC release, though that is entirely speculation on our part.
The announcement was made during Aqua’s one-man live concert, titled Aqua-Colored Wonderland (Aqua Iro In Wonder Land).
Minato Aqua is arguably one of the most popular Vtubers of the second generation of Hololive Vtubers, whose members include Yuzuki Choco, Oozora Subaru, Nakiri Ayame and Murasaki Shion, on top of Aqua Herself.
If anything, the strong pivot into videogames is a good indication of how much COVER is investing into its virtual talents- with so many games spanning so many genres, you’ll really be able to engage with Vtubers in more ways than simply watching their streams or buying their merchandise.
