In the official Xbox podcast, Microsoft Gaming CEO Phil Spencer has confirmed that they are bringing four Xbox exclusive games to other platforms.
During the podcast, Spencer said the decision was made to ensure the long-term health of Xbox, and that the decision is not a change to their fundamental exclusive strategy.
Spencer did not reveal what the four titles coming to the other platforms were, but he did mention that two of the games are community-driven games, while the other two were smaller titles.
Furthermore, Spencer has also confirmed that Starfield and Indiana Jones titles, which were games previously reported to be coming to the PS5, are not included in the four-game lineup.
While Spencer has claimed that their fundamental exclusive strategy will not change, he also feels that titles that are exclusive to one hardware will soon become a small part of the game industry.
“I do have a fundamental belief that over the next five or ten years, exclusive games, games that are exclusive to one piece of hardware, are going to be a smaller and smaller part of the game industry,” said Spencer on the podcast.
He also emphasized that these four games coming to other platforms does not mean that more games are guaranteed to come as well.
“So four games, no promise beyond that,” he said. “So if you’re on those other platforms and you see these four games coming, please don’t take it as some signal that everything’s coming. It’s not. And we’re going to learn.”
Although we have yet to have an official announcement on the titles coming to the other platforms, but according to sources from The Verge, the first two games coming to these other platforms are Hi-Fi Rush and Pentiment, followed by Sea of Thieves and Grounded.
