Dead Cells is a game by Motion Twin which was released for the PC (Steam), PlayStation 4, Xbox One and the Nintendo Switch. The game was critically praised by players before it was released and it is now coming to the mobile platform. Recently, the game was seen listed on Google Play Store published by Playdigious, but was removed (maybe it’s still not ready and in the process).
Like most Metroidvania or rogue-like games, Dead Cells is entertaining and the difficulty scales as the game progresses further. There are tons of weapons and power-ups in the game, as well as secrets. You will find it enjoyable defeating many different types of creatures and bosses; and they will be challenging. As the term Metroidvania stems from the two big games that ever existed – Metroid and Castlevania, Dead Cells does bring the aesthetics to the table and it’s never boring. However, if you die, you’ll have to start all over again.
There’s no official news released yet but we’re hoping that it would really come to mobile soon. Some might say that having touch controls for such a dynamic game might not be suitable, but it could be simplified for mobile which we shouldn’t worry too much about. If that’s not convincing enough, well, let’s hope that it is compatible with controllers as well so that we can actually bring it around and play anywhere! 😀
