In celebration of 15 years of the Metro series, 4A Games has announced that Metro 2033 Redux will be free within 48 hours.
A short clip of gameplay was posted on YouTube and X announcing the giveaway. The post showed the definitive version of the first installation of the title, whereas the 2014 Redux, is the version that will be free for players to install.

The game will be available to install on Steam, GOG and Xbox. Although it is not free on PlayStation, the game itself will be at a heavy discount along with other titles of the franchise.
Metro 2033 Redux takes players back to the origins of the series, with the recent game in the Metro series, the prequel virtual reality title Metro: Awakening. No new mainline has pushed the story forward, however as the franchise moves forward, a new Metro game is stated to be in the works with formally Reburn studio (formally known as 4A Games Ukraine) along with series creator Dmitry Glukhovsky.

Metro 2033 Redux has been free to install on the Epic Games Store years prior, and now for those interested or are fans of the Metro series, the game is available to install once again for free for a limited time.
