Several classic Konami games including the original Metal Gear are now available via game platform GoG. Rather than being one big collection, these games can be purchased individually.

The list of Konami titles consists of the following:
- Metal Gear (USD 5.99)
- Metal Gear Solid (USD 9.99)
- Metal Gear Solid 2: Substance (USD 9.99)
- Konami Collector’s Series: Castlevania and Contra (USD 5.99)
This is a pretty good catalogue of old gems, especially since Metal Gear Solid 2: Substance is the definitive edition of Sons of Liberty.
The re-publishing of the original Metal Gear is also great news for game conservationists, since previously there wasn’t an accessible way to obtain the game, let alone legally.
The low price of these games is also good for any content creators, since there’d be good interest in seeing these old games for the first time.
This isn’t the first time the Metal Gear games are coming to PC, contrary to popular belief. The first two Metal Gear Solid games were released on PC two years after their console release, but this predates the existence of digital storefronts.
Similarly, the games were never released on Steam even after it made its headway as a PC gaming staple. In the case of Metal Gear Solid, the game is coming to PC digitally more than 20 years after its initial release.
