Merle Dandridge will be returning to TLOU as Marlene in the HBO drama series. As the head of the Fireflies, she will be joining Pedro Pascal (Joel), Bella Ramsey (Ellie) and Gabriel Luna (Tommy) on the set of The Last of Us.
Merle Dandridge is the voice of Marlene in both the original TLOU and its sequel, and now plays her HBO live action version as well. A premiere date for the drama series has not been determined, with the pandemic presumably affecting filming schedules since its original announcement in November 2020.
Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann are penning the scripts for the series. The games themselves have sold over 17 million copies since the original game’s release in 2013. A supposed part 3 game has apparently been outlined, but nothing of it will be revealed as long as it doesn’t exist in any official capacity. He spoke about themes and structure they’ll need to stick to, when it comes to making such sequels to games. For now, Naughty Dog will be exploring ideas, then figure out how they will commit.
There’s the fact a remake for the original game is said to be in the works for the PS5, so fans of the series will have things to tide them over yet.
