French Bread has announced the release date for Melty Blood Type Lumina, the follow up to the cult-classic fighting game based on Tsukihime.
The release date for Melty Blood Type Lumina was announced via a new trailer, which also shows off more gameplay for the characters, as well as the new art style. The game releases September 30th, 2021 on PS4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One and PC via Steam.
As we’d seen in the prior teaser the game has dropped its pixel-art style in favor of a hand-drawn sprite look, sharing a look with French Bread’s other fighting game, the Under Night series.
The announcement was shared by Yoshinori Ono, who had recently moved to Delightworks, the game’s publisher.

Delightworks have also announced the special editions for Melty Blood, specifically the Deluxe Edition which also includes the Melty Blood Archives, full of art and music from the series as a whole.
On top of that, those who purchase the game early will also get access to the Arcueid custom voice announcer, letting the character narrate the game’s round calls.
Melty Blood is a fighting game series based on Tsukihime, the other story written by Fate series creator Kinoko Nasu.
