Medabots S to run Ghost in the Shell collaboration

Medabots S: Unlimited Nova has announced a Ghost in the Shell: SAC_2045 collaboration event. It will run from 4 February 15:00 JST to 18 February 14:59 JST. Medabots S will be introducing original Medabots based on the Ghost in the Shell characters, as well as outfits for the mobile game’s duo protagonists, Arase Oosumi and Hisaki Kaguya.

Nine’s Leader will bear Motoko Kusanagi’s design, Muscle Borg is modelled after Batou, and Oil Clay is essentially Tachikoma. Nine’s Leader and Muscle Borg will be available from the collaboration gacha, while Oil Clay will be from the collaboration event quest. The outfits themselves will be available through exchanging event currency obtainable from the event and log in bonuses. There will also be a high difficulty quest that will reward a event limited title, so good luck!

Medabots S had recently celebrated its first anniversary on 23 January since its launch in Japan. The title doesn’t look like it’d be getting any localization anytime soon, with the last officially localized title having been Medabots Infinity, back in 2003 on the Gamecube. There’s obviously still a fanbase if the game is still in service, and Imagineer also released the compilation game Medarot Classics Plus in November 2020, but who knows if a publisher would be interested enough to bring it outside of Japan.
