May PS5 pre-order opens in Malaysia, sold out right away

Just as Sony Store Malaysia announces that PS5 consoles are available for pre-order for this month of May, they get sold out right away. This isn’t a surprise to many, but it certainly is frustrating.

On the Sony Malaysia online store, trying to buy a PS5 will result in the following screen:

In case you aren’t aware already, the console is very hard to come by due to hardware shortages. Since the Sony Store is practically a dead end, your best bet to pre-order a PS5 will be through the registration of interest form for May 2022 opened by Sony Centre Mid Valley Megamall.

As always, the post on Facebook reads:

MAY I have your ATTENTION please?
The Pre-Order for PS5 Consoles is finally back again for the month of MAY! Register your interest right away at the google form that is prepared!
For customers & gamers who are interested, kindly fill up the PS5 interest form as prepared below.

FYI, Registration of interest ends (Sunday) 22 May 2022, 1 pm.

Filling up the form doesn’t mean you’ll be guaranteed to get a PS5. Sony Malaysia is the one who’ll decide who’ll be walking away with the elusive console.
