Netease Games‘ Masterwork Apocalypse Genesis, as it is published in China, will be brought over to Japan as Akasha Book / Akasha of the End. The name change isn’t out of nowhere, as you are the Guardian of personified books based on the Akashic Records. The characters aren’t all just books; they can be anything of the written kind, just what you expect to find in a library. You can find the trailer for the Japanese release below.
Akasha Book will be recruiting testers for a closed beta test from 21 January until 15 March 2021. You’ll be able to sign up via the official website. If you are accepted, you’ll receive an email when the closed beta period has been decided and will be announced via the official Twitter.
Recommended specifications for testers are:
- iOS: OS 9.0 and above
- Android: OS 6.0 and above
In this early stage, no pre-registration period or milestone rewards have been announced.
For those who haven’t heard of the game before, it’s basically an RPG game where you, as the Guardian, will use these personified books to fight against the perils that await. There’ll be 4 characters to a party with both husbandos and waifus for those who like them, all with 3D models with either Chinese or Japanese voiceover. Combat is turn-based, with skills depending on character / enemy position.
