After delaying the game for well over a year by now, Square Enix announced that its upcoming mobile RPG Mashiro Witch: Midnight Marchen should be released in fall 2018.
We first heard of Mashiro Witch in March 2017 and it was supposed to come out before the end of 2017. And here we are again.
To recap, from what we can tell from the clips alone, Mashiro Witch is a turn-based game with an emphasis on character customisation. But first, a little backstory. The game is set in a world that is on the verge of destruction, where a group of magic girls have to work together to prevent its fate by defeating monsters.
You assemble a team of four to complete quests, from a pool of girl which varying abilities. In addition, players are able to tweak a character’s skin colour, facial features, personality, hairstyle and job. As mentioned, with the game being turned based, you select from a list of actions to perform, ranging from physical attacks and to healing. With each action having a set cost, and players are only able to perform ones within the cost you own.
