In their second big reveal of the night, Insomniac announced Marvel’s Wolverine would be coming to the PS5.
Very little is currently known about the project- according to Insomniac’s Ryan Schneider, it’s still very early in development- but we can expect a lot of the same goals that Marvel’s Spider-Man set out for in that game, here.
“Marvel’s Wolverine is a standalone game being directed by Brian Horton (creative director) and Cameron Christian (game director), who recently led the creative efforts on Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales, a game we’re extremely proud of at Insomniac”, he says.
“In the vein of our Spider-Man games, our goal here is to not only respect the DNA of what makes the character so popular, but also look for opportunities to make it feel fresh and truly reflect the Insomniac spirit. Even though Marvel’s Wolverine is very early in development, from what I’ve seen of its emotional narrative and cutting-edge gameplay (see what I did there?), the team is already creating something truly special”
Unfortunately this little information means the game has no release date, though it’s safe to assume that just like Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 it’s going to be a PS5 exclusive. Considering the name, we can also safely assume that it’s going to be a Wolverine solo adventure, instead of a secret X-Men game.
