NetEase Games had cordially announced the second season Marvel Rivals promptly titled Marvel Rivals Season 2: Hellfire Gala. The theme of this season is based off the annual event that appears in the Marvel Comic’s X-Men 12-part comic series in 2021. This event is where mutants would open the doors to the island of Krakoa, inviting outsiders to partake in a fancy night event with fine dining and a near foolproof recipe for disaster.
This season will feature two new playable characters, one Emma Frost and the formidable Ultron. In addition to these characters, Season 2 will also bring themed outfits based on the Hellfire Gala for all playable characters in the roster as well as some other significant changes.
Welcoming All Friend And Foe Alike
Based on the developers description from the official season trailer, there is stated “uninvited guest” who has entered the gala attempting to destroy the peace built around the event. That uninvited harbinger is made clear to be none other than one of the playable characters, the robotic Ultron. Following suit is the hostess of the gala, the diamond shapeshifter and telekinetic mutant, the White Queen Emma Frost.
More Season Content
In addition to these stunning characters, current favorites will receive new skins based on the Hellfire Gala. With these glamorous outfits players can dress up their favorite heroes and villains and battle against others with chic. A few skins were showcased in the above trailer featuring classic X-Men suits and more gala outfits to come.
A few gameplay changes will also be included, such as the addition of newer character team ups whilst removing older ones. And according to the developers at NetEase, Marvel Rivals will receive one new character every month – that is an expected 12 new characters a year!
The Hellfire Gala would not be complete without the original island it held place, so Marvel Rivals will also be adding a Krakoa domination map for Season 2.
Marvel Rivals Season 2: Hellfire Gala will release this April 11 and is free-to-play on PlayStation 5, Windows PC via Steam or Epic Games Store and Xbox Series X. Visit the official website to learn more about the season and other further information.
