Did you catch the Marvel Avengers War Table? There’s plenty of information to go through in the presentation, so let’s get into it! Once you’re done, you can check out our interview with the developers for additional context. You can watch the Marvel Avengers War Table in full for yourself below:
M.O.D.O.K. AS THE MAIN VILLAIN
George Tarleton, as Advanced Ideas Mechanics founding member, promises to help the world with science. He’s got a darker underbelly though, transforming into MODOK (Mechanized Organism Designed Only for Killing) in his quest to rid the world of “uncontrollable powers”. He makes Kamala Khan an offer that she refuses, kicking – or rather slamming her way out – off her quest to reunite the fractured Avengers.
HERO MISSIONS FT. THOR’S “ONCE AN AVENGER”
Thor, as his alter ego “Donald Blake” makes a resounding entry onto the Avengers’ helicarrier, the Chimera, with lightning and Mjolnir in hand. AIM is running wild on the ship, and he’s here to set the record straight. He utilizes both melee and ranged skills, zapping machinery all round as Hulk, Iron Man, Black Widow and Ms Marvel are doing their part. MODOK’s taunting them all the while, of course.
Hero Missions focus on the specific hero, in this case, Thor, as you learn more about the story and the playstyle of the hero. Thor’s Ultimate is also showcased, using the Bifrost to pierce an unbreakable shield.
CO-OP WAR ZONES
War Zones are more open spaces, where you pile in with your friends to take down threats with each of your customizable Avengers. There’ll be plenty of variety in skins and equipment, earned through missions or through the in-game marketplace. These missions will also involve helping out factions, with characters like Nick Fury and Dum Dum Dugan. Max out an enemy’s stun meter and unleash a finishing move on the unfortunate soul with your teammate! You’d also be able to rebuild your own helicarrier.
Marvel Avengers will be launching 4 September for Google Stadia, Playstation 4, Xbox One and PC, as well as the Playstation 5 and Xbox Series X once the next-gen consoles launch.
