Marie Joins the Fight in Skullgirls 2nd Encore DLC

Hidden Variable Studios and Autumn Games have announced Marie as the newest Skullgirls 2nd Encore DLC and the final playable character of the Season 1 Pass on all platforms.

After posing as the titular Skullgirl and the primary antagonist of the series, this maid has been highly anticipated by fans ever since her playability was teased last year during the game’s 10th anniversary.

In her playable form, Marie appears to be a rushdown mixup character, employing her arsenal of skeletal limbs, servants and cleaning tools to apply pressure at both close and long range.

Players who own the season pass or the Marie DLC will also gain access to two variations of a new stage, 2 new songs and a brand new tutorial and story mode exclusive to her.

In the announcement post on Steam, Hidden Variable Studios and Autumn Games also confirmed that they will release a replacement “Soviet Announcer” voice pack which was removed on June 2023, with the new Soviet Announcer to be voiced by Gary Schwartz, also known as the Heavy from Team Fortress 2.

Additionally with Marie’s release, they stated that the development team will return to keeping an eye on the rest of the cast and making appropriate balance adjustments.

Marie is available now on Skullgirls 2nd Encore via the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Playstation Vita and PC via Steam.
