Looking for a fun, co-operative experience? Consider Marble Knights, now available exclusively via Apple Arcade. The game is developed by Wayforward, who previously made Shantae and the Seven Sirens.
It’s a cute isometric action game, with a world where everyone is part sphere. You must defeat the evil Lord Terroball, and his army of monsters.
The animated sequences of the game’s trailer were done by cult-favorite studio TRIGGER, hence the anime aesthetic. They’ve also been responsible for the intro for Shantae and The Seven Sirens, another game by Wayforward.
The marbles which do more than just damage the game’s enemies. These spheres can also interact with the environment, as the trailer shows the fire marble burning up a bridge.
They’re also not locked to the individual marble knights, and you can swap marbles between them. Based on the trailer, it looks like there will be segments that also have you riding enemies as marbles. The boss fights are also interesting, with a very Zelda-like vibe to them.
Currently the game is only on Apple Arcade, which Malaysian users can subscribe to for RM19.90/month. Using the service’s family plan will get you up to 6 people on the subscription for the same price, meaning you’ll have plenty of friends to save the kingdom with.
