Manasis Refrain announces end of service

Manasis Refrain announced its end of service as of 14 June 2022. This end of service announcement is quite sudden, all things considered, about 8 months since the original launch of Manasis Refrain in Japan.

Servers will be shut down on 9 September 2022, 16:00 JST. More details regarding the short term plans leading up to the closure will be announced at a later date. Presently, plans include having the app taken down from the respective store pages on 11 July 2022, 16:00 JST, and in-app purchases will also be disabled then. Any remaining currency you have will be usable until the game officially shutters. Specifics about remaining currency will also be announced on the official website in the future, which should be regarding refunds.

As the story goes, there’s a legend where a hero with the power of “Manasis” sealed an evil Demon King, sparked from a war among the spirits, a war that almost destroyed the world. In order to prevent his return and fight back against the remnants of evil, academies were established to train the next generation. In time, the Demon King was forgotten, and the academies became primarily focused on more regular education to study mana and Manasis techniques.

It’s the unfortunate reality of live service games in which they can shut down at any time.
