A few days ago, the PC Gaming Community Malaysia group has been involved in a heated debate about Handheld gaming versus PC gaming, from a man posting a picture of himself playing the ROG Ally by the pool.
The debate sparked when a user uploaded a post of himself relaxing by the pool playing on the ROG Ally. In the same post, the user wrote his opinions on the ROG Ally and the future of handheld gaming, which went viral among Malaysia PC gamers.
The user’s post, written in the PC Gaming Community Malaysia Facebook group, talks about how the user’s experience with the handheld device and the many advantages it brings, such as being able to play AAA titles wherever he wants without being restricted to a PC.
“PC Handheld gaming really have a future if you ask me” said the user in his post. The user then ends off his post by saying that he was merely sharing his personal experiences. The post itself was pretty harmless, just a regular guy saying that he likes handheld gaming and wanted to share his opinion to others. However, other users seemed to disagree on his sentiment.
The post continued to go viral as many considered gaming PCs to be far more superior for several reasons such as stronger performances, being able to upgrade easily, having larger screens, and the like. Perhaps the animosity geared towards the user was because many people considered the post to be an attempt to “flex” by taking pictures of the handheld device by the pool with KLCC as a backdrop.
In response, the PC Gaming Community Malaysia Facebook group started making memes based on this incident. Here are some of the examples:
