Local Malaysian Voice Actress Chan Su Ling is will working for Funimation to dub several characters in the upcoming shoujo anime Kageki Shoujo!!
This will make her the first Malaysian voice actress to work with Funimation and an American anime dub in general.
She happily spoke of the news of her casting on her Twitter:
I’m making my English anime and Funimation debut as Akiya’s Mom in Kageki Shojo! I’m the first Malaysian voice actor in an American dub.

Chan Su Ling had previously worked on several Malaysian entertainment projects. She is probably most well known as the voice of Mayday, the main heroine of the Malaysian India game No Straight Roads. She also voiced Ying in Boboiboy, Ms. Dira in Rimba Racer, and worked on several Malay language anime dubs like Card Captor Sakura.
She is reportedly fluent in English and Malay and knows basic Japanese and Cantonese
About Kageki Shoujo!!
Kageki Shoujo, whose Japanese airing finished recently, is a shoujo anime by Studio Pine Jam (Gamers!, Gleipnir). It is based on the manga by Kumiko Saiki.
The anime is about Ai Narita, a young high school girl enrolling in a Musical and Theatrical Arts Schools. She aims to become the top ‘otokoyaku’ a female actress who plays traditionally male roles in the school alongside her friend Sarasa, who wishes to become an actress despite her inability to read.
