The Kuala Lumpur-based Malaysian developer Magnus Games Studios has announced a new action RPG referred to under the working title Project Survival.
Known for their work on RE:LEGEND, Magnus Games will be working with publisher Shueisha to produce the upcoming title. A teaser trailer for the game has also been revealed:
Project Survival is described as “an anime fantasy survival-crafting, monster-taming, open-world adventure game that you can enjoy solo or with friends. Embark on an epic journey in a thrilling fantasy survival game that will push your skills and instincts to their limits. After the devastating destruction of your original world, you find yourself stranded in an unknown universe teeming with dangerous and awe-inspiring life forms. It’s up to you to adapt, survive, and thrive in this stunning new realm”.
The mechanics of Project Survival will include taming different monsters that the player can ride and take on adventures. It will also involve crafting bases and settlements to better survive in the wilderness of the game’s fantasy world.
The game is confirmed to be launching on Steam. It will feature both a single-player mode and an up to 25-person online mode. The official website says that the game’s release window and other possible release platforms are yet to be determined.
It should be noted that this will be Magnus Games Studios’ second title after their work on the fantasy farming simulator RE:LEGEND. The game has become somewhat divisive as Magnus has yet to update the game’s Kickstarter backers about several promises, most notably its ports for consoles, something that fans have commented on over social media.
At this point, nothing is confirmed however and it is possible that Magnus might be working on both games simultaneously.
