Popular Malaysian Cosplayer Hsachiko recently posted a set of pictures on her Facebook account showing how she attended a surprise birthday party for her friend’s sister dressed as Marin Kitagawa from the anime ‘Sono Bisque Doll wa Koi wo Suru’ or ‘My Dress Up Darling‘.
In her Facebook post, Hsachiko explains that her sister “summoned” her to a surprise birthday party for her friend who was too shy to ask for a picture with the cosplayer at Nijigen Expo 2.0 last month in her Bishamon costume.
“Special fan service mission was completed yesterday as Marin Kitagawa!! Sorry for the delayed post as onesaan is really getting old I needed to sleep.
The story, in short, is… my sister summoned me for a birthday surprise for her best friend who’s too shy to ask for a picture with me in Bishamon costume in Nijigen Expo 2.0… (BTW SHE NEVER ASKED A FAVOR FROM ME SO I MUST SAY YES TO HER ONLY REQUEST)
And am so happy to meet my sister’s very good Tomodachi too @honeydeww_w @kxhappy_31
So happy to see other people happy too wwwww I will edit the video soon and post it tonight!! “
My Dress-Up Darling is an anime centered around cosplay culture and the happiness that cosplayers bring to themselves and others through dressing up as their favorite characters.
It’s cool to see a local Malaysian cosplayer like Hsachiko channeling that same philosophy into a real-life cosplay mission and making someone’s birthday even happier.
