Japan-based video game publisher EISYS has just announced Maika Fantasia, its latest rhythm game for the Android and iOS platforms, and PC via DLsiteにじGAME. Pre-registrations for the game have opened, and it is scheduled to launch sometime in June 2021.
As is the case with other games of its ilk, Maika Fantasia has players taking on the role of a producer of an idol unit, although the focus will not be on raising them like THE iDOLM@STER Shiny Colors, but more like THE iDOLM@STER Cinderella Girls Starlight Stage, where the rhythm aspect takes centre stage. Expect to find original songs an various collaboration songs that will be playable in the core game. If you have played the aforementioned iM@S game, you will know exactly what to expect here. When taking a break from tapping buttons in sync with the music, you can learn more about the girls through its rudimentary story mode. Here, you will meet the idols and learn who they are as they aspire to become a Maika, the game’s terminology for top idol.
Boomers will appreciate the fact that they have gotten Okui Masami, performer for several legendary anime songs, to take on the role of the game’s boss character Akatsuki Rioko, as well as to perform Maika Fantasia’s main theme, One My Little Star.
