Christmas came early as Maid Rimuru is finally a playable character in That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime: ISEKAI Memories. While his looks are easily 10/10, we’ll analyse [Master of Maids] Rimuru Tempest to see if he’s worth pulling for in terms of gameplay.
His skills similarly reflect his tanky nature. His first skill is 3-turn long DEF and Max HP buff, while his second skill increases guard power while increasing Soul of Skills damage.
Unfortunately, the current PvE content in the game makes [Master of Maids] Rimuru Tempest rather pointless. His first skill requires a healer to have full effect as it only raises your Max HP, but doesn’t restore it. If your character’s HP was at 100%/100% before the buff, it will be 100%/130% after it. Not only that, you’ll hardly ever need a 3-turn long DEF buff. Many of the other characters’ single turn DEF buff can already do the job.
Similarly, the second skill only increases guard power (how much damage is reduced), but not guard rate, meaning that it needs to be paired with something like Milim and Shuna’s Divine Protection to be useful. Sadly, in terms of gameplay, [Master of Maids] Rimuru Tempest is one of the least useful 5★ characters to date. As such, we don’t recommend pulling for him in terms of meta.
Arguably, the greatest benefit for pulling Maid Rimuru is being able to walk around town in a maid outfit. If that thought makes you happy, then by all means—pull him.
