We’re back once again with another card preview for Magic: The Gathering (MTG) and this time, featuring a rather special one, Propaganda for the upcoming Assassin’s Creed collaboration set, thanks to our friends at Wizards of the Coast.
Propaganda is a 3-cost Enchantment card all about protecting yourself through its namesake, forcing opponents to pay up more mana if they are persistent on their onslaught. If you are not aware, this is actually a reprint of a card introduced in the Tempest set.
To cast Propaganda, you would need to spend 2 mana of any color and 1 blue mana, totaling up to 3 costs, making it a relatively cheap card to use after Turn 3.
The effect and card text of Propaganda is as follows:
Creatures can’t attack you unless their controller pays 2 for each creature they control that’s attacking you.
Based on its description, you can see that this card has a strong effect in protecting you from creature attacks, forcing the opponent to pay 2 mana of any color for each creature they want to use to attack you.
While 2 mana of any color may seem cheap in the late game, the cost adds up and can ramp up to a ridiculous amount the more creature opponents want to use to attack you, especially effective early to mid-game when both players likely have a small mana pool.
Propaganda also comes in Booster Fun foil-etched treatment, which features a striking frame and foiling application, with sparkle and iridescence that make the cards stand out from other foil treatments.
And that’s it for this round’s card preview! Propaganda will be available as part of Magic: the Gathering – Assassin’s Creed set in collaboration with Ubisoft, available July 5th, 2024. Our thanks to Wizards of the Coast for letting us check out this card ahead of the set’s release!
