Wizards of the Coast, SEA (Wizards) is hosting a Magic: The Gathering, March of the Machine (MOM) themed Carnival on the 8th and 9th of April 2023 to celebrate the upcoming release of the new March of the Machine set.
The Magic: The Gathering themed Carnival will be held at the following venues which are decorated as planes depicted in MOM:
- Classroom Cafe Uptown (Phyrexia)
- Cards & Hobbies (Kamigawa)
It is also important to take note that this event will be free and that includes all the activities held during the Carnival as well.
A series of carnival-styled activities will also be available at the two selected Local Game Stores which include:
- Learn to Play sessions
Trained staff will be on hand at dedicated stations to help ease players into the game through bite-sized lessons - Meet and Greet sessions (Timings are subject to change)
1:00pm – 3:00pm – Classroom Cafe Uptown
4:00pm – 6:00pm – Cards and Hobbies - Snap away (photo booth session)
Attendees can walk away with 2 free Jumpstart Booster Packs by sharing their photos using the relevant hashtags
Pre-registration is highly encouraged as new players who pre-register will also receive two free themed booster packs. Pre-registration can be done on Magic: The Gathering’s Facebook event page.
A pre-release weekend will also be held on 14 – 16 April whereby players can head over to their favorite local Wizards Play network (WPN) member game store to get an early chance to play with the cards from the new March of the Machine Set which officially releases the following week.
A new 2 headed Giant format will also be held during this pre-release event. With this 2v2 setting, each new player will pair up with a seasoned player, who can offer tips and tricks and enjoy the game together.
Veteran players are eligible to receive a booster pack for teaching new players at the pre-release event.
