The JP side of Magatsu Wahrheit announces its end of service, with microtransactions having been ceased since 12 January, with server closure set for 31 March 2021, 18:00 JST. Players will still be able to send in any enquiries until 30 April 2021, 18:00 JST. There will be one more update to version 1.25 within the month, according to the official announcement. Additionally, it would seem that you’ll still be able to read the story once the servers go offline, going by a follow-up tweet.
While JP Magatsu reaches its end of service, the news post mentions it will continue servicing the global release that launched in October 2020. This is good news for global players, but with the closure of what you’d argue to be the primary server, it does not bode very well. A similar case happened for Witch’s Weapon, where the JP server shuttered before the global one eventually followed suit.
The Magatsu anime serves as a prequel to the game, which markets itself as “an epic online 3D JRPG” with real time battles you can participate in with your guild or solo. As mentioned, you will still be able to play the global release which you might want to err on the side of caution.
