Red Art Games, Bushiroad Games, and developer Kaminari Games have announced that MACROSS Shooting Insight will launch in North America and Europe on December 6, 2024. The game will be available for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch, offering both physical and digital editions.
This latest entry in the MACROSS franchise brings together characters from five different series, including MACROSS Plus, MACROSS Zero, MACROSS 7, MACROSS Frontier, and MACROSS Delta. Additionally, the game features an original story where dimensional fold anomalies transport pilots and songstresses from various timelines to the Battle 7.
MACROSS Shooting Insight offers a unique blend of gameplay styles, incorporating horizontally scrolling, vertically scrolling, and 360-degree scrolling shooting segments. Players can utilize the power of music to gain advantages in battle, synchronizing with songstresses to activate various buffs and debuffs. The Western release includes several improvements over the original Japanese version, such as adjustable difficulty settings, a more forgiving continue system, and quality-of-life enhancements like persistent control display during pauses.
Physical editions will be available in North America for PlayStation 5 and Switch, while Europe will also receive a PlayStation 4 version. The publishers plan special editions, including a Deluxe Edition exclusive to RedArtGames.com in Europe and a Special Edition exclusive to Video Games Plus in North America. A limited Collector’s Edition will also be available in both regions, featuring additional items like a steelcase, soundtrack CD, and exclusive MACROSS collector medals.
MACROSS Shooting Insight will feature Japanese voice acting with English localization, allowing Western fans to experience this new chapter in the MACROSS saga.
