M.U.T.E Protocol Event for Rainbow Six Siege Starts Today

Gather your fellow operators as Rainbow Six Siege announces the new sci-fi themed M.U.T.E Protocol event.

The limited-time event will run from August 4-17th and is a new take on the Secure Area game mode.

The M.U.T.E Protocol will pit two teams of five against each other. In it, one side has to defend their position from the attacking side. The gametype takes place in a futuristic version of the Tower map.

The event features a new Morphing mechanic, where attacking operators can control drones while defending ones can move through the facility as bulletproof cameras.

This event will also have its own collection of 26 items, including customizations for Jackal, Lion, Ying, Kapkan, Mira, Mute, Oryx and Vigil.

The event’s M.U.T.E Protocol Packs will contain a new signature weapon skin, as well as special signature items.

Players can earn M.U.T.E Protocol Packs via an in-game Event challenge, or purchase them from the Packs page. You can purchase the packs for 300 R6 Credits, or 12500 Renown Credits. Year 5 Pass Holders are also entitled to a 10% discount on these packs.

Ubisoft notes, however, that the following operators would not be playable in the event for gameplay reasons: Twitch, Thatcher, Mozzie, Mute, Maestro, Valkyrie, Dokkaebi, Echo, Goyo, Clash, Montagne, Blitz and Caveira.
