Lycoris Recoil Animated Movie Reportedly in the Works

Lycoris Recoil fans are in for a treat, as Japanese animation studio A-1 Pictures is reportedly producing an animated movie based on the original action anime featuring cute girls with guns.

The news broke in a now deleted tweet where Shunsuke Sugimoto, an employee at A-1 Pictures had hinted at the production of a new animated movie for Lycoris Recoil.

“Licorice has a new animated film in the works. Please look forward to it! You will surely see something interesting.” the original tweet by Shunsuke Sugimoto reads.

However, as of time of writing, there has been no official announcement regarding the Lycoris Recoil anime, so fans will need to wait a little longer for the confirmation.

This news follows the recent announcement of a new manga series titled Double Helix Blossom, created by Lycoris Recoil creator Asaura that had debuted in this week’s edition of CoroCoro Comic, one of Japan’s monthly manga magazines published by Shogakukan.

Lycoris Recoil follows the duo protagonist of Takina Inoue and Chisato Nishikigi who work at a cafe in Tokyo while moonlighting as members of “Lycoris”, an undercover task force of assassins and spies made up of orphans tasked at maintaining the peace in Japan against terrorists.
