Following the release of the latest update in Goddess of Victory: Nikke, the game added in a new featured called The Luxury Bunny Costume Gacha which has Rupee’s Bunny skin as part of a reward. This skin can only be obtained by spinning a wheel using premium currency which costs roughly USD10 (MYR48.99) for six tickets.
For those who are unlucky, the cost could potentially go higher with even some citing it to be at least USD60 (MYR273.15) due to the fact that the number of tickets required to spin the wheel gets progressively higher as more draws are made. This has caused the community to take their grievances online and share their frustrations with other Commanders.
One such member who disapproves of the Luxury Bunny Costume Gacha is Facebook user Bryant Rawls who commented, “neat bait and switch, why didn’t you tell everyone it would cost them $60?”.
Twitter user Karres23 states, “This is crazy in the past it was $20 to get a costume…. Now it’s $10 for six tickets to potentially maybe get first prize at least if each role (sic) was one ticket but it’s not….I love this game but this is the biggest money grab I have seen and I don’t like it one bit. Do better”
Technically you could get the skin through the single free draw, but locking a skin behind a gacha element instead of allowing players to purchase it directly makes one question the motives behind the pricing decision.
This is not the first time that characters have gotten paid skins. In the past they have come from the battlepass mechanic or as a direct purchase from the in-game store. However, the Luxury Bunny Costume Gacha is the first time that a skin is locked behind a separate gacha, let alone one that could only be entered with premium currency purchasable via real world money only.
Goddess of Victory: Nikke is available now on iOS and Android and you may find more information at their official website.
