Summer is about to get spookier as Nintendo has officially revealed the release date for Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD.
In celebration of Mario Day on March 10, 2024, Nintendo announced that Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD is set to release on the Switch on June 27, 2024.
No new trailer was released alongside the release date announcement, but fans can soon dive back into the HD remaster of the Nintendo 3DS classic that was released in 2013 as Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon.
The remaster was first announced in June 2023 and will be bringing the second title in the spooky Luigi’s Mansion trilogy to modern graphics.

The original was first announced at E3 2011, with the game’s launch delayed into 2013 to promote Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon as part of “Year of Luigi”, celebrating the character’s 30th anniversary.
Upon its release, the game received generally positive reviews from both critics and fans, was nominated for several awards, and sold 6.44 million copies as of December 2020, making it one of the bestselling 3DS titles.
Joining alongside Luigi’s Mansion 3, this left the 2001 original the only title in the trilogy that has yet to make its way over to Nintendo Switch.
Aside from Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD, another classic, Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door remake also got its release date announced during Mario Day while 3 Game Boy Mario titles will be making their way to Nintendo Switch Online.
The Super Mario Bros Movie is also announced to be getting a sequel and is set for a 2026 release.
