Love Live fans are in for another shock as it’s just been announced that Love Live School Idol Festival All-Stars ( SIFAS )would shut down its services this June.
In an in-game notice, Klab revealed that they will shut down servers for Love Live SIFAS on June 30th, 2023, though any premium currencies bought can still be used until the end of service.
Global versions of SIFAS will also be affected by the closure.
This follows just months after another big shutdown, with the original Love Live School Idol Festival having announced its own End of Service earlier this year.
While it may come as a shock, the end of SIFAS is hardly a surprise- School Idol Festival 2 has already been announced, and due to the similar nature of all three titles the decision was more likely about just not directly competing with their own products.
According to AppMagic, Love Live SIFAS has made over 137 million USD since its launch in September 2019, with the lion’s share of it (126 million) coming from Japan.
That being said, the game reportedly made less than 1 million in the past month, with only 667k in revenue and 28k in downloads in the month of April.
Love Live is considered one of the big pioneers of the idol-raising gacha game genre, alongside its contemporary IdolM@ster and BanG Dream, though given the multiple titles under its belt it more closely resembles the former.
