The global version of Love Live School Idol Festival 2 has been delayed, according to the game’s website.
In a post on their website, Bushiroad announced that Love Live School Idol Festival 2 has been delayed to February 2024.
This delay pushes the game back by two months, missing its originally targeted December release.
While most delays are just attributed to unforeseen circumstances, it seems like Bushiroad is being upfront about the cause of the current delay.
“We announced a release in 2023, but we’re facing development challenges in coordinating with the JP version”, the official Twitter account says.
It’s not uncommon for content coordination to be an issue with rhythm games across versions- Hatsune Miku’s Colorful Stage drew some criticism at launch when it was revealed that the game’s global release would have a different music schedule, with many believing it was due to music rights.
Love Live School Idol Festival 2 is the follow up to the massively popular idol collector game Love Live School Idol Festival All-Star, and features units from the various Love Live anime such as the original Nus all the way up to Liella from Love Live Superstar.
The game even had a playable build at this year’s MYDCF as part of the Bushiroad attractions at the event.
