Artisan Studios, the makers of Astria Uprising, has announced a new game named ‘Lost Hellden’, with development contributions from Final Fantasy and Tactics Ogre veteran developers.
Lost Hellden is a JRPG that features a unique hand-painted art style, coupled with what the developers call ‘Deep 2D’ technology, which allows players to play in 3D in hand-painted artworks with dynamic lighting and weather.
For its development team, the game features Takeshi Oga, who has worked in major titles such as Final Fantasy XIV and Gravity Rush 1 & 2, for illustration.
Composer Hitoshi Sakamoto will also be joining the team for music and audio direction, he is best known for his scores in Tactics Ogre and Final Fantasy XII.
According to the trailer, the game’s story takes place in Era, where its inhabitants are bound to one of the Seven Deadly Sins before their first birthday through the Nexus Ritual.
Inhabitants of Era will need to fight against their urges for the rest of their lives, and if they fail, they will transform into mindless and aggressive monsters.
We will follow the story of Cyphel, a man who was not bound by any sins during his ritual, on a quest to bring back his twin brother, who was bound by all seven sins, after he had left the city.
Lost Hellden allows you to take control of eight unique highly customisable characters while promising a battle system mixing action and strategy.
The game is set to launch on the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam, Epic Games, and GOG in 2025.
