Lode Runner 1 is a game developed by Nexon based on the classic retro game, Lode Runner that was first launched in 1983 on the NES (Nintendo Entertainment System). The game has been polished with better graphics and a more in-depth gameplay experience as it looks and feels different than the old Lode Runner.
With Nexon reproducing a classic game like Lode Runner and titling it Lode Runner 1, people would expect it to be a better version or an upgraded version of the classic. Just like its predecessor, the rules are same and simple; avoid getting caught by the guards, collect the gold and escape to the exit point. While you’re at it, you have some tricks up your sleeve. You can climb ladders, shimmy across poles, blast brick floors to trap the guards and walk across them like they’re blockheads.
If you like the classic Lode Runner, the game allows you to unlock the Lode Runner Classic mode when you’ve finished all 35 levels of the game! That way you can get on into reminiscence mode and play back all the old school Lode Runner stages on your mobile. There’s also a custom mode where you can build your own maps and play it.
Though it is a popular and classic title, Nexon has made the game free and available in both iOS and Android stores.
