A post on Wanuxi has revealed that the Chinese Network IQiyi is going to be making a 40 episode live-action drama series based on the comedy romance manga Monthly Girls Nozaki Kun titled ‘Comic Girl Romance’ (Yue Kan Shao Nu).
We currently only have this one screenshot of the Drama which is still early in production. It will begin airing in 2022.
Here is the official Synopsis for the drama:
“The story of a student named Lu Yeqi an intelligent 2nd-year student of the major Mathematics but he has always been known for his low profile and mysteriousness. Actually, he has a hidden occupation as a professional Shoju Comic Artist. As a science student, Lu Yeqi lacks certain knowledge about Shoju Comics. He originally wanted to write hot-blooded youth comics, but somehow strayed on his path. He is passionate about comics, he decided to persist in chasing his dreams.
Zuo Qiandai, who has a crush on Lu Yeqi, decides to confess to him one day but her intentions were misunderstood and she was eventually recruited into his drawing team”.

- Gu Zheng Xing (Masayuki Hori) – Zhao Yi Qin
The series is to be directed by Zhong Qing, whose latest work includes the Drama series ‘Please Feel At Ease Mr. Ling’ and ‘My Girl.

As previously mentioned, this is just one of many anime adaptations in the works. Netflix is making both a Cowboy Bebop and One Piece Live-action series.
