As Like a Dragon: Ishin fast approaches its release date, SEGA has revealed more information on what you can expect from the game, this time focusing more on its gameplay.
Like a Dragon: Ishin offers you various ways to not only build up your skills but to also test them. What’s more, you’ll be rewarded for it. These include the different missions you can take as well as training together with the masters.
Here is a brief overview of it:
- Training
Various masters across the story will help Ryoma in acquiring new skills to learn. This include William Bradley who will teach you the Gunman style. Moreover, there are also mini-games for you test out your skills and earn valuable rewards like weapon materials and Book of Revelations.
- Wanted Men
Special missions that can be taken from Kyo’s neighborhood watch that will either have you face strong enemies in combat or chase them down in chase battles. Rewards for completion includes upgrades materials and gold - Battle Dungeons
Secret missions by the government where you will be exploring dungeons filled with enemies and traps. Not only does a formidable enemy awaits at the end, but you also get to keep all the items you’ve found there regardless of rarity - Arena
A special area where you can take on fierce fighters across the country in battle. There are two formats you can take on here, the Knockout Match and the Hundred-Man Beatdown. Winning in the arena gives you not just prizes but also Arena points that can be exchanged for even more rewards.
In Like a Dragon: Ishin, you’re not the only one capable of executing special abilities. The bosses you’ll face also have a special move in their arsenal so you need to prepare yourself accordingly.
- Okada Izo – Generates a tornado with his swords that not only poisons you but also prevents you from running.
- Tokugawa Yoshinobu – A flame ability that shoots straight ahead. It cannot be guarded and will also inflict you with a burn effect.
Like a Dragon: Ishin is a hack and slash game by Ryu Ga Gotoku Studios releasing on February 22nd, 2023. The game will be available for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
