As we get closer to the launch of Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth, SEGA has released 3 new trailers, highlighting Ichiban Kasuga, Kazuma Kiryu, and Koichi Adachi respectively.
The latest entry in the Like a Dragon series, Infinite Wealth stars both protagonists Ichiban Kasuga and Kazuma Kiryu in the franchise’s first-ever overseas locale of Hawaii.
As mentioned, the franchise is going beyond the Isezaki Ijincho district of Yokohama and into the palm-fringed paradise of Honolulu, Hawaii.
Similar to the previous entry Yakuza: Like a Dragon, Infinite Wealth will employ a turn-based system, albeit enhanced in many ways, and will feature the return of Poundmates and more.
Ichiban Kasuga
The first 15-second trailer features Ichiban Kasuga, the main character who somehow ended up in Hawaii.
Nicknamed Ichi, Kasuga is a former member of the Arakawa Family, a Tojo Clan subsidiary, and had been to prison for a crime he did not commit in Yakuza: Like a Dragon.
Kazuma Kiryu
The former protagonist of the Like a Dragon series, returning once again as a main character but this time, a more broken man.
In Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth, he revealed that his days are numbered and is on a mission to fulfill his bucket list, while also joining Ichiban Kasuga for his adventures.
Koichi Adachi
A recurring supporting character of the Like a Dragon series. Koichi Adachi is a former police officer and driving instructor with the Kanagawa Prefectural Police.
Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth launches on 26 January 2024 for the PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and Windows PC via Steam.
During our time at Tokyo Game Show 2023, we got a chance for an interview session with Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio (RGG Studio) Head, Masayoshi Yokoyama, Chief Producer Hiroyuki Sakamoto, and Chief Director Ryosuke Horii about Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth and the return of Kazuma Kiryu, which you can read here.
