SEGA has shown off new gameplay for the upcoming Like A Dragon Infinite Wealth, complete with an Animal Crossing style minigame for your very serious crime story.
The minigame, titled Dondoko Island, has Ichiban taking care of his own island- taking care of various guests as well as furnishing it to his heart’s desire.
Just like in Animal Crossing, Dondoko Island in Like A Dragon Infinite Wealth will also feature a plethora of things to do- Ichiban can hunt for local wildlife, as well as reshape the town on the island to suit the needs of his various guests.
One big twist to the Animal Crossing formula, though, is the combat sections, where Ichiban will have to grab his bat and start swinging it to keep less desirable gangsters and unruly animals out of his little slice of paradise.
Interestingly enough, unlike the actual combat gameplay for Like a Dragon Infinite Wealth, Dondoko Island actually has him swinging his bat in real time, the first time you’d be able to do so as Ichiban.
The Like A Dragon series is no stranger to weird minigames- Yakuza 0 has its infamous Pocket Racer, while Yakuza: Like a Dragon had a whole party member locked behind your ability to do the management sim side activity.
