Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth brings the beloved Like a Dragon action way beyond Kamurocho and Isezaki Ijincho, all the way to the sun-drenched shores of Honolulu, Hawaii.
The latest entry of the Like a Dragon series opens its doors to welcome the lively new map of Hawaii, brimming with exciting minigames, a revamped combat system, and the return of beloved playable main protagonists Ichiban Kasuga and Kazuma Kiryu.
To bring the vibrant world of Honolulu to life, Infinite Wealth also boasts a stellar voice cast, which many franchise fans would quickly recognize, including Kazuhiro Nakaya, Kaiji Tang, and Takaya Kuroda. Well-known industry talents such as Danny Trejo, Daniel Dae Kim, Takehito Koyasu, and many more also lend their voices to the fascinating characters in Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth.
Aloha from Hawaii
As mentioned, Infinite Wealth promises an expansive new map in the form of the palm-fringed paradise of Honolulu, a whole new flavor to the Like a Dragon adventure. Like any other Like a Dragon game, Honolulu has plenty of unique locales to explore, hidden gems to find, and troubles to deal with.
In Honolulu, you can explore the gorgeous ocean along Aloha Beach, dive into the sea if you feel like going for a swim, or hunt for treasures under the water. Not feeling like getting yourself wet? Perhaps head over to Aloha Seaside to enjoy the scenery with an aromatic cup of coffee and some sweets.
There are also hills of sand along the beach that you can kick over and uncover valuable items, but be warned, trouble may await you if you find yourself kicking the wrong hills.
If you’re not much of a beach person, there’s the Anaconda Shopping Center for you to spend your wallet and shop away like there’s no tomorrow. The Anaconda Shopping Center serves as a one-stop hub for pretty much everything you need for your adventure in Hawaii, be it weapons, equipment, accessories, gear enhancement, or even pawn shops, cafés, convenience stores, arcades, and more, you name it.
Feeling lazy to travel to Anaconda Shopping Center each time you need to shop? Fret not, because you can find all sorts of shops in almost every corner of Honolulu, even some not found in the shopping center such as crepes, tacos, sushi, gift shops, and of course, a bar with a karaoke setup for Ichiban and his friends to hang out.
Minigame Mayhem
It would not be a Like a Dragon title without the many interesting and wacky minigames and Infinite Wealth will be introducing a diverse lineup of new ones that will keep you entertained. From delivering pizza while performing sick stunts on your bike in Crazy Delivery to restoring a deserted paradise in Dondoko Island.
Moreover, Sujimon will also make its return from Yakuza: Like a Dragon. The Sujimon Battles is a game mode where Kasuga takes command as a trainer to guide dangerous individuals he collected to defeat other NPC trainers.
While you may not find opponents in Dondoko Island, Kasuga can invite his Sujimon to help restore the paradise and fend off bad guys, deepening his friendship with his Sujimons.
Sujimon Battle
Takes command as a Sujimon Trainer as Kasuga guides his Sujimon to attack or utilize abilities in 3-vs-3 team battles against rivals. Each team consists of three starting members and can have up to three substitutes, adding up to a total of six Sujimon per team. As you battle other Sujimon, you can recruit more, train those Sujimon, and become the very best Sujimon Trainer like no one ever was.
Dondoko Island
This paradise has Ichiban taking care of his own island, hunting local wildlife and reshaping it into a town to woo tourists to visit and admire its charm. However, keep an eye out for uninvited guests and always prepare to grab your bat to beat them up and keep them off your paradise.
Crazy Delivery
Becomes a delivery rider and races through the streets of Honolulu as Kasuga sends meals to hungry customers while on his bike and pulling off sick stunts along his way. You can also use various items scattered along the way to assist in your run, such as jump pads, Coins, Crazy Drinks, Bonus Tickets, Metallic Bags, Party Boxes, and more.
The higher your score is, the better pay you will get at the end of each run as you gradually become Hawaii’s Craziest Deliveryman!
Aside from that, there is also Miss Match where you throw Kasuga into the world of online dating, Ounabara Vocational School where you learn various subjects, and many returning classic Like a Dragon minigames such as karaoke, shogi, darts, UFO catchers, and more.
Punch Your Way to Paradise
This latest entry of Like a Dragon features a brand-new Live Command RPG combat system, that is even more dynamic than the previous title and pushes the battle to be faster in pacing.
Each party member can now freely move around within a radius to position themselves more effectively and make the most out of their abilities. Furthermore, members can also instantly initiate follow-up attacks if an enemy gets knocked into their path during allies’ turns. The ability to freely move around during battle also opens up options for party members to pick up weapons on the ground to deal different types of damage.
The Poundmates feature will also be returning from the previous title, allowing you to summon quirky allies and unleash devastating attacks and support skills, turning the tide of battle in an instant. From summoning Buster Holmes to deal damage and stun enemies to calling in an entrepreneurial deliveryman to heal your entire party. Poundmates add a layer of strategic chaos to every brawl.
Furthermore, Infinite Wealth also takes jobs to the next level with a more expanded system, offering more diversity when compared to the previous game. Perhaps become a surfing Aquanaut, a nunchaku-wielding Action Star, a Fake Murasame-wielding Samurai, a maracas-holding Geodancer, a diligent Housekeeper, or maybe even master the art of Desperado gun-slinging. Each job offers unique skills and combat styles, allowing you to extensively customize your brawling experience and find the perfect fighting fit for your dragon spirit.
