SEGA has released more story information regarding Akame and the key figures in the Daidoji Faction for the upcoming Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name.
Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name is a spin-off title that takes place between the events of Yakuza 6: The Song of Life, Yakuza: Like a Dragon, and Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth.
Akame
Akame is a jack-of-all-trades based in Sotenbori, an enormous entertainment district in Osaka, Japan.
Kiryu will become acquainted with Akame through a certain incident while completing assignments for the Daidoji faction.
Akame is a secretive woman who is said to be well-versed in Sotenbori’s underworld and works to gather intel from all over the region via her Akame Network, an intelligence network comprised mostly of the city’s homeless.
Kiryu joins forces with Akame, helping her complete risky requests and deepening their friendship as they solve conflicts in the criminal underworld and tackle its poverty industry.
Key Figures in Daidoji Faction
In the game, Kiryu works as an agent under the alias of “Joryu” for the organization Daidoji Faction.
Throughout the story, not only will Kiryu interacts with his manager, Kihei Hanawa but will also acquaint himself with numerous people within the Daidoji Faction.
Yoshimura (voiced by Mitsuaki Kanuka)
“…Kazuma Kiryu. Time for your punishment.”
A violent manager in the Daidoji Faction, who prioritizes the organization above everything and will mercilessly eliminate anyone who poses a threat.
Yoshimura openly expresses his disdain towards Kiryu, a man who shows no allegiance.
Boss (voiced by Hiroshi Naka)
“If he can’t keep his promises, then our deal is meaningless. Don’t you agree?”
A high-ranking officer in the Daidoji faction who works in the shadow, and not much else is known about him.
This wheelchair-bound old man possesses a significant amount of power within Daidoji Faction and he demands Kiryu to keep the pact he made with the organization.
Head Priest (voiced by Ikkyu Juku)
“We still have a ways to go in our training, don’t we? Heh.”
He serves as the head priest of the Daidoji Faction and has detached from his earthly desires.
The Head Priest enjoys playing the board game, Go by himself the whole day, and is one of the few people Kiryu confides with.
Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name is set to release worldwide on the PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC via Steam, on November 9, 2023.
