SEGA has unveiled some new details regarding the combat system for the upcoming Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name.
In Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name, Kiryu will reportedly be able to switch between two different fighting styles called the Agent style and Yakuza style.
The Yakuza style will closely resemble the Brawling fighting style that we’ve grown accustomed to, featuring Kazuma Kiryu’s signature ferocious haymakers and bone-shattering kicks.
On the other hand, the Agent style is a covert fighting technique that amalgamates various martial arts techniques from around the world, incorporating specific gadgets. This style was created by Daidoji Agents with the intention of enhancing their capabilities in intelligence operations.
Each fighting style will also give you different powers different power ups.
YAKUZA STYLE
In Yakuza style, your destructive powers are increased, allowing you to pummel your foes mercilessly.
This will also make Kiryu automatically pick up any nearby weapons and attacking enemies with them, he will also continually use Heat Actions in this state with no enemies being able to stop him.
AGENT STYLE
Agent Style will instead draw out all your gadget’s abilities to the max, in turn allowing you to take down multiple enemies in style.
All of the boss enemies in the game will each have unique powerful special moves of their own.
Kiryu will be able to block these moves with an Ultimate Counter, which will reflect an incredible amount of damage back at his foe.
Yakuza style also has an abundance of charge attacks that deals extra damage such as following up quick combos with charged-up Finishing Blows, or performing a counterattack after an attack has landed with Resolute Counter.
The Agent style introduces four distinct gadgets: the Spider, a device that releases thin wires from a watch to immobilize foes; the Serpent, a compact jet spray concealed in Kiryu’s shoes for quick bursts of movement; the Firefly, a cigarette-shaped explosive; and the Bee, an AI-powered autonomous combat drone that serves as an auxiliary unit.
When cleverly used together, these gadgets can deliver devastating damage to your enemies.
